Unforgettable | CBS, Friday, 8 ET/PT

Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh return for another round of 'Unforgettable.'

It's the show that will not be forgotten. Having been killed, revamped and resurrected in July for a seven-week summer run, Unforgettable now picks up the rest of its second season. (A third is due this summer.) For their comeback, Carrie and Al (Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh) pose as a married couple to attract a killer.

The Academy of Country Music Awards | CBS, Sunday, 8 ET/PT

The endless awards cycle takes another turn with Sunday's presentation of The Academy of Country Music Awards. Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton host the broadcast, which will include performances from Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum, who will be joined by Stevie Nicks. As with most of these music awards shows, the performers come for the prizes — and viewers come for the performances.

Game of Thrones | HBO, Sunday, 9 ET/PT

HBO's lavishand expertly produced fantasy returns with a lightning-fast opener that skillfully, sometimes amusingly, and eventually violently resets the characters — putting them in place for the season to come. If you love the books on which this show is based you most likely love this series despite its occasional deviations, as it's hard to imagine a better adaptation. As for those who don't care for the books, we can only watch with envy, wishing that someday a literary series we loved would be done half this well.
