College basketball season officially tips off Friday highlighted by star freshmen like Kansas’ Andrew Wiggins, Duke’s Jabari Parker and a whopping six McDonald’s All-Americans on No. 1 Kentucky.

One of this year’s underlying themes is the NCAA’s new rules (or interpretation of the rules). Notably, hand-checking will be enforced much differently and in turn, some college coaches are already fuming over the idea of their players being plagued by foul trouble.

When you work in the business of winning, there’s plenty of stress. Some coaches take out their frustration on players, others most coaches air out their dirty laundry with referees. And of course, some coaches throw chairs across the gym because that’s how they like to keep it real.

To celebrate the college hoops season tipping off Friday, For The Win takes a look at the 10 angriest coaches the game has to offer.

Billy the Kid” tends to throw tantrums like a kid when calls don’t go his way.

You don’t win championships and make the Hall of Fame without lighting a fire under your players. Pitino’s known for his in-your-face screaming for both players and officials, but perhaps his most famous outburst came during his time as an NBA coach.

8. Tim Floyd, UTEP

Not only does this guys’s bad hair day turn badder, but he does things like this when refs T him up, and sometimes the law has to get involved.

7. Tom Crean, Indiana

He looks like Dwight from The Office, and he often channels the beet farmer’s rage when his Hoosiers aren’t playing well.

6. Thad Matta, Ohio State

If Shaun White is the flying tomato, Matta is the exploding tomato. The Ohio State coach’s face tends to turn into a deep shade crimson when his blood pressure begins to rise…which is often with the Buckeyes.

5. Tom Izzo, Michigan State

Don’t let Izzo’s calm demeanor in press conferences fool you, the 5-9 coach will come at you like a Spider Monkey, Mr. Official.

4. Mark Turgeon, Maryland

He’s been known to cry after beating Duke, and there is speculation that he ages a year with every bad call he gets.

3. Frank Martin, South Carolina

His furious eyebrows or intense body language, Martin spells fear for any player who thinks they have the audacity to turn over his basketball in his gym.

Let’s be honest. It’s the eyebrows.

2. Jim Boeheim, Syracuse

His monotone voice might put you to sleep in a lecture hall, but try ticking this guy off in a press conference and you’ll realize you’re glad you’re not in the media business.

1. Bo Ryan, Wisconsin

Even though Ryan likes to dance with his team in his leisurely time, the intimidating scowls he gives officials are enough to send shivers down their spines. The man is scary.
