Despite reports that the NFL would not allow Bears WR Brandon Marshall to wear green shoes during their Thursday Night Football game against the New York Giants, Marshall did in fact wear the shoes–and will simply be fined by the league for the matter.

Marshall is wearing the shoes in honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, and he has vowed to match the NFL’s fine with a donation to charity.

There were reports earlier this week that the league would not allow Marshall on the field in the shoes, but the NFL clarified their position and said Marshall simply would be fined, much like any other player who violates the uniform policy.
