Playlist: Jessie J, plus 10 more
"You're stuck in the playground, and I'm a grown woman now," English pop diva Jessie J sings to a rival, or perhaps an ex-lover, at the start of her latest single, It's My Party, a buoyant guitar-pop groove reminiscent of her 2011 hit Domino. She intends the couplet as a putdown, but she's the one who comes off sounding childish. "It's my party, I'll do, do what I want," she sings petulantly, but another line suggests she isn't as happy as she tries to sound: "While you watch me, I'll keep dancing alone." At the end of the night, what fun is that -- Brian Mansfield
