"Call me Caitlyn," reads the cover headline for the July issue.

While people may have to wait for the July issue of Vanity Fair to hit shelves to find out why Jenner chose the name, we do know the meaning of the name Caitlyn.

Caitlyn is an American name that means pure, according to BabyNames.com. The Irish spelling of the name is Caitlin with an i.

"Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie(…) Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets. As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free," Jenner said in a Vanity Fair promo video.
