Michelle Obama made a stunning arrival at the China state dinner, held on Friday evening at the White House. The first lady chose to wear a black gown with a trumpet skirt by Chinese-American designer Vera Wang, a nod to the evening's international guests.
Who made the guest list?
Bold-faced names invited to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping included Empire co-creator Lee Daniels, Henry Kissinger, ballerina Misty Copeland, Apple CEO Tim Cook and Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg.
Peek at the menu:
The 200+ guests feasted on wild mushroom soup, poached Maine lobster, grilled Colorado lamb and poppyseed bread and butter pudding.
And the entertainment?
Just get that bowtie right, would ya?
