Prince once completely redecorated Carlos Boozer's mansion without his permission

Anecdotes about Prince continue to roll in by the hour after news of the uber-legend’s death.

Here’s one reported in 2011 that might make you chuckle: NBA forward Carlos Boozer — who last played for the Lakers in 2015 — rented his mansion in West Hollywood to Prince in 2004. As the Chicago Tribune wrote, Boozer resisted but “the amount of money he was willing to pay made me reconsider.”

However, Prince reportedly took renovations to the rental a little too far:

“Multiple media outlets reported Prince paid $70,000 per month for the 10-bedroom, 11-bath home. The same reports said attorneys for Boozer filed suit against Prince/MPG Music for violating the eight-month lease because of ‘painting the exterior with purple striping, “prince” symbol, and numbers 3121 (one of Prince’s albums).’

“The suit also cited a purple monogrammed carpet was installed in the master bedroom and plumbing ‘for water transfer for beauty salon chairs’ was added.”

The lawsuit was dropped after Prince fixed the changes he’d made and Boozer signed a non-disclosure agreement, but did have this to say:

“He made it purple. He wanted to put his personal touch on it because he wanted to make it feel like home. I was kind of worried about that when I saw the house. But Prince was great. I had a conversation with him. He changed everything back the way it was before he moved out.

“He did some very specific things that were built for him and his lifestyle, which is very different than mine.”

Boozer paid tribute to Prince on Instagram on Thursday:
