South Carolina holds its Republican primary and Nevada holds its Democratic caucuses

Saturday will be a critical day for the presidential nomination campaigns in both parties, but in two different states: South Carolina and Nevada.  If Donald Trump wins South Carolina's Republican primary by less than 10%, it'll be a shocker. Most eyes will be on how Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz and Ben Carson finish. Meanwhile, in Nevada, it's Bernie Sanders vs. Hillary Clinton in the Democratic caucuses. If Clinton loses, it would be the third and perhaps most striking sign yet that her path to the nomination is anything but a lock.

1.2 million Walmart workers to get pay raise

Most Walmart employees in the U.S. will get a raise Saturday, in line with Walmart's promise to bring its minimum hourly wage up to $10 this year. The increase comes after facing years of pressure to increase pay.  Entry-level workers will make at least $10 an hour after completing about six months of training. The average full-time hourly wage will become $13.38. Walmart recently said they will close 269 stores globally, affecting roughly 16,000 associates, some 10,000 in the U.S.

Final goodbye to Justice Scalia

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s funeral will be held Saturday morning in Washington. There will be a private burial following the funeral Mass — although the location remains unknown. Many of Washington’s top officials, including President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, paid their respects at the court Friday. Vice President Biden is expected to attend Saturday's funeral. Scalia’s sudden death last Saturday at a ranch in Texas complicated an already tumultuous election year. The White House says Obama will begin vetting specific candidates over the weekend as he prepares to nominate a candidate for the vacancy.

Samsung phone, China, Facebook are big deals at Mobile World Congress

Samsung could set the tone Sunday for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona if they reveal the Galaxy S7 smartphone and S7 edge as rumored. The reveal will be the highest-profile unveiling at the mobile industry’s signature global confab, which officially begins Monday. Two thousand companies will exhibit, and the Chinese companies in particular bear watching to see if any will make major inroads into the U.S. market. Other obvious topics of conversation: Apple's dog fight with the U.S. government, and Facebook's thwarted attempts at offering free Internet in India. Daytona 500 marks start of NASCAR season

Forty drivers will pack the 2.5-mile speedway Sunday for the 58th running of the Daytona 500 — perhaps one of the most iconic auto races in NASCAR. The race will air live at 1 p.m. ET on Fox and marks the start of the 2016 NASCAR season. Rookie Chase Elliott will sport recently-retired Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 Chevrolet and the race’s starting pole position, while Gordon will commentate the race from the sidelines.
