Dwyane Wade cried before the Heat’s Game 7 win

The Miami Heat overcame a 3-2 series deficit to eliminate the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, and emotions were especially high for Dwyane Wade.

The 13-year NBA veteran was shown crying during the national anthem before Miami’s 123-91 win.

Wade was asked about the tearful moment after the game, and he laughed it off, saying it was just him being focused.

He told Doris Burke:

“Just focus. Just focus, thinking about the moment. This team all season we’ve had opportunities to cave, and every time we’ve been in that situation, we’ve somehow prevailed. I’m proud of this team, and I knew tonight would be a great moment for these guys … I was just thinking about how these guys were going to feel after playing in a Game Seven.”

The win probably saved Wade’s tearful moment from turning into a meme, and that’s also something to be happy about.
