Gilmore Girls fans will get another chance to return to the world of Stars Hollow.

Netflix is bringing back stars Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (her daughter, Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke) and Kelly Bishop (Emily, Lorelai's mother) for a final season that will be written and directed by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, both executive producers. Two other stars, Sean Gunn (Kirk)  and Keiko Agena (Lane), also are returning.

Netflix did not provide information about the premiere date, number of episodes or official title on Friday. There was no mention about the possible return of Melissa McCarthy, who went on to movie stardom and her own TV series, CBS's Mike & Molly, after Gilmore ended.

Graham, who recently starred in NBC's Parenthood, put out the word about the long-rumored revival Friday via Twitter. The series ended its seven-season run on WB and CW in 2007.

In the picture, Graham holds a garment or garment bag that appears to have the words Property of Gilmore Girls Costume Department and says, "I CAN NOW CONFIRM: It's time for me, and this jacket I stole in 2007, to return to work."

In October, TV Line and The Hollywood Reporter reported that Netflix had reached agreement with Warner Bros. for a limited-series revival that would be made up of four 90-minute episodes/mini-movies.

The revival gives Sherman-Palladino, who left the series before its final season as a result of a contract dispute, the chance to close a drama whose popularity had much to do with her singular voice.

Edward Herrmann, who played Lorelei's father, Richard, passed away in 2014.
