The Redskins marketing team has an RG3 problem

A Washington Redskins marketing campaign hit an awkward snag this week when the status of the player who’s worn the number 10 went from starting quarterback to questionable for the final roster.

As the countdown to the season has gone on throughout the summer, the Redsksins’ social media accounts have posted a picture of a player whose number corresponds to how many days there are until the season officially begins. It worked beautifully with pictures of DeSean Jackson (11), Dashon Goldson (38) and Alfred Morris (46).

But then came 10 days until the regular season kicked off and instead of just skipping a day (which most fans wouldn’t have noticed), they messed up the theme just a little bit …

Which was sad because in past years, it had worked very well …

The lesson here, that we can gather is, that if you’re going to make Kirk Cousins the starting quarterback of your franchise, check with the marketing department first to make sure it doesn’t mess up their social media account planning. Or something.
