Oh 'Joy'! Japanese expert Marie Kondo has helped millions of Americans get rid of the mess with her best seller, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing.

Now she returns with a more tips in a follow-up book, Spark Joy, which Ten Speed Press will publish on Jan. 5. According to the publisher, Spark Joy “presents a comprehensive, illustrated manual on how to declutter and organize specific items throughout the house, from kitchen and bathroom items to work-related papers and hobby collections.”

Tidying Up, published last October, has sold more than 1.5 million copies in the U.S. and has been on USA TODAY’s best-seller list for 41 weeks. Its highest ranking was No. 5; on Thursday it will be No. 19.

Best-selling author Marie Kondo has taught people how to de-clutter.

In addition to Spark Joy, Ten Speed will publish a companion to Tidying Up called Life-Changing Magic: A Journal, on Dec. 29. Through the journal, Kondo fans can “apply the principle of sparking joy not only to objects in the home but to all other areas of life,” says the publisher.
