Umpire takes away a fan's foul ball and throws it into the crowd

Monday was not a banner day for Major League umpires. In Pittsburgh, a home plate umpire blew a strikeout call despite a batter obviously whiffing on a pitch. In San Francisco, first base umpire Doug Eddings stole a foul ball away from one fan wearing plaid and tossed the ball deeper into the crowd. Perhaps Doug Eddings just doesn’t like plaid.

This fan was trying to retrieve a foul ball that was stuck on the other side of a fence, but Eddings sabotaged his operation and threw it to a guy sitting a row behind.

Fortunately for the man in plaid, he was given a ball by a Giants ball dude later in the game.
