Cool girls at Alexander Wang, red carpet ready gowns and more from NYFW
Saturday was packed with shows from fashion heavy weights. And a shift in conversation, from 'Which celebrity designer is showing a collection?' back to 'Which designer will be dressing which celebrity?' A fun game with the Oscars a few weeks away.
Christian Siriano
Siriano is a red carpet favorite for many young actresses -- and they will likely be happy with his latest work. If we don't see one of those billowy yellow gowns on the likes of Jamie King (who was sitting front row), we will have some serious questions.
Altuzarra
Joseph Altuzarra is beloved by fashion editors and celebs alike for his elegant tailoring. There was plenty to be happy about there, and the two gowns at the very end were like icing on a delightful Valentine's Day cupcake. Emily Ratajkowski, who sat front row with Kate Bosworth, told Vogue she hoped to wear the red version on a red carpet some day. Us too, Emily, us too.
Alexander Wang
Wang is still the reigning prince of the cool crowd. His rebelliousness has endeared him to top models like Anna Ewers and newby Katherine Moore, whose hair was cropped and died red specifically for the show. We won't be seeing any of his pieces emblazoned with the words 'tender' and 'strict' on a red carpet anytime soon, though the 'girls' hats will undoubtedly land on the heads of Kylie Jenner, Zoe Kravitz and Taraji P. Henson who were in attendance. Cookie would definitely approve.
