Marquette student pays Providence $10 after yelling he would pay Kris Dunn to miss free throw

Fans yell out all sorts of things at sporting events — some of them funny, some not so nice. On Wednesday night during the Marquette-Providence game, a Marquette student says he screamed out to the Friars’ Kris Dunn while he was at the free throw line, “I will literally give you $10 if you miss this shot!”

Apparently, just after the student said that, Dunn missed, and because this student is a man of his word, he sent Providence Athletics a check for $10.

Dunn probably never even heard the yelling or at least blocked it out at the line, yet this student felt the need to still follow through with it. Surely, the Marquette student was also feeling good since the Golden Eagles won in double overtime, 96-91.

Dunn is 67.7 percent from the charity stripe this season and was 6-for-8 that night.

Update: Marquette is having some fun with this.
