Yes, we know, we tend to highlight the Big 12 a lot in this feature. This is with good reason, of course. It’s the deepest and most competitive conference in the country, and there’s a nationally televised, top-25 matchup nearly every night.

The Mountaineers find themselves alone atop the league standings, but they’ll have to do something that hasn’t been accomplished all season to stay there — beat KU in Allen Fieldhouse.

TOP 25:  Tuesday's schedule

The Jayhawks, in fact, have a 36-game home winning streak entering this contest. But WVU has won in some tough venues already this year, including Iowa State’s Hilton Coliseum last week.

As an additional confidence booster, the Mountaineers own an 11-point win against the Jayhawks in Morgantown.

KU, of course, remembers that result as well. The Jayhawks will look to handle WVU’s pressure defense more efficiently, which must start with Frank Mason. The Jayhawks have not been as effective in man-for-man defense as coach Bill Self would like at times, which could mean driving opportunities for Mountaineers’ G Jevon Carter.
