Anderson Cooper says 'Live!' co-hosting gig 'would be a dream' on 'WWHL'

Kelly Ripa's new co-host?

In Andy Cohen's clubhouse, there's usually Nothing Left Unsaid.

Anderson Cooper and his mom, Gloria Vanderbilt, were guests on Watch What Happens Live Thursday, and a caller came at the journalist with the hard-hitting questions. She wanted to know what Cooper thought about the Live! with Kelly and Michael dramz and if he were interested in taking over for Michael Strahan when he leaves for a full-time gig at Good Morning America.

"Listen, I love Kelly. And, I think Kelly's the heart and soul of that show, and it's gonna go on and continue to be great. And, I wish Michael the best in his new endeavor."

Then, Cohen asked his friend point-blank if he would take the Live! co-hosting gig if it was offered to him. "Look, I'm very happy at CNN," Cooper said. "It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody's offering me anything."

And Cohen offered his bud some encouragement. "You can do it all, sweetie. Look at Seacrest. It's the age of Seacrest."

Cooper has filled in as a guest-host on Live! He also had his own daytime talk show, Anderson, that premiered in 2011 and was cancelled in 2013. Also, in real life, Cooper and Kelly Ripa are friends and bring a natural chemistry to the host's table.

Be sure to keep coming back for the most up-to-date news on who exactly is going to fill that seat next to Ripa.
