Those sleek luminescent OLED TVs promoted in LG's Super Bowl commercial are landing earlier than expected.

Select retailers across the U.S. will have the new super-thin 65-inch Signature 4K Ultra HD OLED TVs in stores Monday and will be taking pre-orders for the $7,999.99 display. Orders for the display — its panel is one-tenth of an inch thick — will be filled within 60 days.

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show, LG had said the new OLED TV would be available in the first half of the year. But the TV maker is hoping to take advantage of consumer interest after its first Super Bowl commercial and the social media buildup to that ad starring Liam Neeson and son Michael.

"We have had some some really unprecedented success in generating a lot of conversation about this OLED television already so we are trying to take advantage of the (TV) selling season, for sure," said LG Electronics USA vice president of marketing David VanderWaal.

Traditionally, the Super Bowl has spurred TV sales, with an estimated 8.6 million sold in advance of this year's game, according to the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights and Analytics.

OLED (organic-light-emitting diode) technology is hailed for its rich colors and deep blacks. "Eventually OLED televisions will be what most brands will want to have," VanderWaal said. "Right now, we have a window of opportunity to make sure people know about OLED and, by the way, LG is the only brand that has OLED."

Future of TVs seen at CES aims to boost 'wow' experience

Competitors Panasonic and Samsung are expected to bring new OLEDs to market, but for now only LG has OLED displays in the U.S.

This new OLED TV is LG's newest top of the line model: it's capable of handling High Dynamic Range (HDR) content with improved colors and contrast beyond standard 4K video. 4K, also referred to as "Ultra HD," delivers four times the resolution of current HDTVs. A 77-inch model is due during the second half of 2016, too.

“The advancements in TV picture quality have been extraordinary in the past year and LG’s Signature 4K Ultra HD OLED is yet another great example of it,” said Luke Motschenbacher, vice president of televisions for Best Buy. Best Buy is among retailers that will have the new TV on display in its Magnolia Design Centers.

Among the retailers that will have the new 65-inch OLED TV on display are Abt ElectronicsBjorn'sBrandsmartFry’s ElectronicsNebraska Furniture MartP.C. Richard & SonValue Electronics and Video & Audio Center.

In advance of the Super Bowl, LG offered bargains on many of its OLED TVs and those offers continue through this week including a $1,999 55-inch curved OLED HDTV ($500 off, plus a sound bar or $100 gift card).
