Charlie Sheen has advice for Johnny Manziel

Johnny Manziel is still technically a quarterback for the Clevleand Browns, but his release from the team following a seemingly never-ending string of off-field incidents is inevitable — and at this point, Manziel needs to step away from football and make a serious effort to save his life.

The Dallas Police Department announced Friday that it is initiating a criminal investigation following a domestic violence complaint made by Manziel’s ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley. A judge also issued a restraining order against Manziel, who was involved in a roadside incident with Crowley last October.

“Crowley told Fort Worth police that Manziel assaulted her at a hotel in Dallas and then in a car while driving to Fort Worth last weekend, and that the quarterback was “on some kind of drugs,” according to a police report released Thursday.”

Manziel’s agent, Erik Burhardt, cut ties with the 23-year-old Friday, and said in a statement that Manziel’s “future rests solely in his own hands.” Earlier in the week, the Browns chastised Manziel for “undermining the hard work of his teammates.”

Manziel spent months in a drug and alcohol treatment center last offseason and publicly apologized for his antics, but Manziel was caught drinking on video numerous times throughout the 2015 season, and was even spotted in Las Vegas on the eve of the Browns’ season finale. Actor Charlie Sheen, who has battled drug and alcohol addiction problems for decades, sent a message to Manziel on Twitter Saturday.
