Nationals in search of naming-rights partner for ballpark

AP

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Nationals have hired executive search firm Korn Ferry to help find a naming-rights partner for Nationals Park.

The Nationals, Korn Ferry and MLB Advanced Media are working together, according to Liz Boardman, senior client partner in the Global Sports Center of Expertise for Korn Ferry. Boardman said in a phone interview Tuesday morning that there is no timeline for an agreement to be reached.

Nationals Park has been without a naming-rights sponsor since opening in 2008. The Nationals are one of 10 teams in Major League Baseball that have not sold the naming rights to their ballpark, along with the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Reds Sox, Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Miami Marlins and New York Yankees.
