TV tonight: 'Big Bang,' 'Bones'

Robert Bianco
USA TODAY
Relationship pressure from Amy (Mayim Bialik) causes Sheldon (Jim Parsons) to seek a diversion in the season finale of 'The Big Bang Theory' on CBS.

The Big Bang Theory

CBS, 8 ET/PT

As television's most popular comedy ends its eighth season, relationship pressure from Amy causes Sheldon to seek a diversion — and he lands on pressuring Leonard and Penny to get married. (Whatever words you might use to describe Sheldon, "good friend" are seldom among them.) If the promos are to be believed, Vegas is in the running — but you know better by now than to believe everything you see in a promo. And, one hopes, you also know better than to panic at the idea of a relationship change, because if any sitcom has proven itself capable of handling shifts and growth in relationships, it's Big Bang.

Bones

Fox, 8 ET/PT

It's Bones night on Fox, which is giving the long-running, and still entertaining, procedural a double run. The first case involves the possible murder of a teenage girl (Brennan isn't convinced). The second involves the execution of a convicted serial killer whose guilt is in doubt — because again, Brennan isn't convinced.

Elementary

CBS, 10 ET/PT

Tony winner Sutton Foster guests tonight as the queen of New York's beekeeping world, an entomologist connected to Holmes and Watson's latest case: the death of one of Holmes's beekeeping buddies. While Holmes focuses on her and the bees, Watson helps Captain Gregson with a possibly life-changing decision.
