Exclusive: It's time to watch a new 'Legends of Tomorrow' trailer

Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill, center) rounds up a posse including Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) and the Atom (Brandon Routh) to travel through time and stop a supervillain.

Marty McFly had to go back in time to make sure his parents got together, but the heroes (and a couple of guys who don't really fit that moniker) of DC's Legends of Tomorrow have a much bigger mission: stop an immortal supervillain before he takes over the world. No pressure or anything.

And time plays a big ol' role in this exclusive new trailer for The CW's The Flash/Arrow spinoff premiering Jan. 21. In the London of 2166, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) hops in his "timeship" to go back to 2016 to round up a posse of powerful folks for the job of taking down Vandal Savage, including the Atom (Brandon Routh), recently resurrected White Canary (Caity Lotz), the Firestorm combo of Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh) and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), and notorious rogues Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell).

Check out some fresh footage showing them going back to 1975 for the premiere, a groovy use of The Chamber Brothers' Time Has Come Today, plus a Star Wars reference. Because obviously.
