At a New Hampshire campaign event, Chris Christie said that in a debate with Hillary Clinton, he would "beat her rear end on that stage."

The beating, Christie told listeners, would provide the Democratic front-runner with relief.

“You know what? After I do she’ll be relieved because she’ll just be worried I was going to serve her with a subpoena,"  Christie said, according to ABC News.

The crowd at the event chuckled lightly.

“It will be a relief just to lose the debate,” Christie continued.

Journalist Matt Katz reported the comment Wednesday morning.

Christie is not the first Republican candidate to publicly imagine a beating of Clinton.

Ted Cruz, winner of Monday’s Iowa GOP caucuses, said voters should give Clinton “a spanking” as he does to his 5-year-old daughter.

Christie is the governor of New Jersey. As a Republican presidential candidate, though, he’s emphasized his earlier days as a federal prosecutor in New Jersey to stress his experience on national security.

“You know the last person she wants to see on that stage in September? You’re looking at him,” Christie said.

“You know why? She’s been running away from federal prosecutors for the last six months.”

Clinton faces continued scrutiny and criticism over a private email server she used while secretary of State that reportedly hosted classified information.
