The 'Seinfeld' cast made touching videos for a terminally ill fan

A few 'Seinfeld' stars helped change someone's life.

Corrections & clarifications: An earlier version of this story contained incorrect information about Jerry Stiller, who is alive.

For a "show about nothing," Seinfeld sure meant a lot to James Anthony Calder.

Calder was suffering from terminal lung cancer, and his son James wanted to do something particularly meaningful for his dad's 67th birthday. So, as James wrote in an essay for The Huffington Post, he reached out to the cast of his father's favorite TV show, Seinfeld.

And the response was incredible, as videos began to roll in from beloved Seinfeld characters.

Here's Julia Louis-Dreyfus' touching message:

Among the many other cast members Calder received messages from:

The Soup Nazi (Larry Thomas):

J. Peterman (John O'Hurley):

And....Newman (Wayne Knight):

Several actors also reached out to the Calder family privately, including Michael Richards (Kramer) and Jerry Stiller (Frank Costanza).

Calder passed away on Nov. 7, and according to his son, the cast's messages meant the world to them. "These wonderful people helped to honor and celebrate my father's birthday and provided a much needed distraction during an extremely difficult time for my family," he wrote. "Their kindness and compassion has humbled us to our core."
