Jamie Vardy trolls heckling fans as Leicester City beats Manchester City 3-1

Premier League fans and analysts keep predicting each week that tiny Leicester City will eventually stumble at the top of the Premier League table — but the Foxes haven’t lost a league match since September, and on Saturday opened up a six-point lead in the standings by thrashing second-place Manchester City 3-1 in the Etihad Stadium.

Defender Robert Huth scored twice from set pieces, and Riyad Mahrez’s solo goal in the 48th minute to make it 2-0 might end up being the goal of the week.

Some Manchester City fans were brave enough to heckle Jamie Vardy, the Premier League’s top scorer with 18 goals, after a shot was stopped by Joe Hart in the second half. Vardy had the perfect response.

Even after this win, ESPN’s projections gave the Foxes an eight percent better chance to win the league over a team they just beat convincingly on the road.

At this point, it’s beginning to seem unrealistic to bet against Leicester. This is a team that is already out of the Capital One Cup and F.A. Cup and has nothing but the Premier League to play for. Leicester City’s schedule is also favorable — in 13 remaining Premier League games, Leicester City plays just five top-10 teams (Arsenal, Watford, Southampton, West Ham, Manchester United), along with four of the bottom five teams (Swansea, Norwich, Newcastle, Sunderland).
