Four killed in Fort Hood helicopter crash
FORT HOOD, Texas — Four crew members died when a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter crashed on the Fort Hood range, Army officials said early Tuesday.
The crash happened sometime after 5:49 p.m. CT Monday, about 10 minutes after sunset, during a routine training in the northeast area of the military post that encompasses more than 375 square miles, according to Fort Hood public affairs officials.
Temperatures were in the upper 50s with no rain, according to weather records.
Emergency crews searched the area for wreckage and discovered the bodies of the four crew members.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. A board will be assigned to investigate the crash, Fort Hood officials said.
The crew was assigned to Division West, First Army, Army officials said. Names of the dead will not be released until the Army notifies relatives.
Fort Hood is about 150 miles south of Dallas near Killeen, Texas.
