Entertainment industry modifies plans after Paris tragedy

CBS' originally scheduled 'Supergirl' episode has been changed in the wake of the Paris attacks.

After terror attacks in Paris, several TV shows, movie premieres and music performances aren't going on as planned.

On Friday, the Foo Fighters canceled the rest of the European tour and U2 canceled their live HBO show after the Paris tragedies.

On Saturday, movie events planned with Steven Spielberg and Natalie Portman in the city were canceled. In the evening, Saturday Night Liveopened the show with a salute to people there.

On Sunday, CBS announced in a press release that it will be swapping out episodes of Supergirl and NCIS: Los Angeles (which involved themes of bombings and terrorism, respectively) for different new episodes Monday night. And TNT postponed a Monday episode of drama Legends.

Movie studio Lionsgate said in a statement it would no longer allow interviews at the Mockingjay – Part 2 premiere out of "respect for the recent events with Paris." The statement went on: "We will proceed with the rest of the event as planned in honor of the incredible fans who have always supported our films with such passion." Part of the final movie in the Hunger Games franchise was filmed in Paris.

This is not the first time this year that tragic real-life events prompted a change in plans in entertainment programming. In August, USA Network postponed the first-season finale of Mr. Robot after the fatal shootings of two Virginia journalists on live television.

In making the announcement, the cable network said in a statement: "The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today's tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight's episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time."
