Actor Charlie Sheen arrives at the premiere of 'Scary Movie V' presented by Dimension Films, in partnership with Lexus and Chambord at the Cinerama Dome on April 11, 2013 in Los Angeles.

Charlie Sheen is expected to reveal that he is HIV positive in an interview Tuesday morning on the Today show, reports People and TMZ.

NBC News announced Monday that Sheen will make a "revealing personal announcement" in an exclusive, live sit-down interview on Tuesday with Matt Lauer, but did not provide further details.

A rep for Sheen has not responded to USA TODAY's request for comment.

Charlie Sheen: A timeline of a troubled life

Sheen, 50, who in 2011 lost his starring role on Two and a Half Men amidst a notorious public meltdown, has remained largely out of the spotlight after FX decided not to renew his most recent show Anger Management, in late 2014. In his personal life, it was announced in October 2014 that he and adult film star Brett Rossi ended their eight-month engagement.
