Ranking the top 42 pro sports cities in America by fan grammar

We’ve already seen the grammar power rankings of every NBA, MLB and NFL fanbase in 2015, but Grammarly took an even deeper dive into the comment section to determine which sports city in America makes the fewest grammatical errors. To create the ranking, Grammarly checked 100 comments per team, then identified the number of mistakes and calculated the average number of mistakes fans in each city made per 100 words written.

Overall, the level of grammar on the entire Eastern seaboard is an absolute mess, while the upper Midwest is the strongest region in the nation.

The city of Memphis leads the nation with just 2.47 mistakes on average per 100 words, but the state of Tennessee is also home to the 42nd-place city on the list (sorry, Titans fans).

It’s interesting to note that the Grizzlies came in fifth place in the ranking of NBA fanbases, but other teams from each of the top four cities in that list (Minnesota, Denver, Milwaukee and Philadelphia) dragged down the city as a whole.
