This flyer released Thursday, July 2, 2015, by the Suffolk County, Mass., District Attorney includes a computer-generated composite image depicting the possible likeness of a young girl, whose body was found on the shore of Deer Island in Boston Harbor on June 25, inside a bag that also contained a black and white zebra-print blanket.

A flood of responses have poured in to Massachusetts authorities since they asked for the public's help in identifying a girl of about 4 whose body washed up on the shore of Boston Harbor late last month, officials say.

The Massachusetts State Police and other authorities have asked the public to help identify the little girl known as "Baby Doe," whose body was found by a woman walking her dog on June 25th in Winthrop, Mass., on Deer Island. The peninsula juts out into Boston Harbor and is home to a waste water treatment plant and walking trails.

The little girl was found stuffed into a trash bag with a zebra-print blanket and wearing polka-dot leggings.

Authorities posted to social media a photograph-like image generated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children created from autopsy photographs.

"Thanks to u, Deer Island unidentified toddler post up to 40M views," tweeted Trooper Dustin Fitch, social media specialist for Massachusetts State Police. "She still needs a name."

"Obviously, the public is very engaged in this," Massachusetts State Police Col. Timothy Alben said during a press briefing on Saturday, after the posting generated 24 million views. "We generated a lot of conversations, if you will, on social media and our team is working on sifting through all that information to try and find a viable lead."

"Please help us help this child who can no longer speak for herself," the Massachusetts State Police said in a posting to their Facebook page.

Authorities estimate that the little girl was about 4 years old. She had brown eyes and long brown hair and appeared to be white or Hispanic, authorities said. She weighed about 30 pounds and was about 3.5 feet tall, Massachusetts State Police said.

They are asking for the public to give thought to any children who may have recently gone missing in their communities recently.

Anyone with information about Baby Doe is asked to call Massachusetts State Police at (508) 820-2121, the Suffolk County, Mass., State Police at (617) 727-8817 or Winthrop, Mass., Police at (617) 539-5806.
