Punchlines: Who wants to be House speaker? Apparently, nobody.

Eileen Rivers
USA TODAY Opinion

It's like a game of hot potato.

That's the way key members of the GOP are treating the position outgoing House Speaker John Boehner occupied for four years in Congress. No one wants his soon-to-be-vacated chair.  Not Kevin McCarthy, who was thought to be the front runner until he dropped out last week after revealing the GOP's witch hunt of Hilary Clinton known as the Benghazi hearings.  And not former vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan.

Things are getting so desperate that members of the party are floating around names like Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney, former politicians who are no longer in the Washington game. Find out why Stephen Colbert compares their potential speakerships to the movie Air Bud in today's Punchlines.
