Texans lineman accidentally forces Arian Foster to fumble

The Atlanta Falcons steamrolled the Houston Texans in the first half, opening up a 28-0 lead by halftime to all but seal a 4-0 start to the season. Arian Foster finally returned to the Texans after recovering from a groin injury, but a bizarre Foster fumble broke the game open in the second quarter.

With the Texans down 14-0, Foster got the ball on a draw play but fumbled after Texans tackle Derek Newton appeared to knock the ball out of Foster’s hands. Desmond Trufant scooped up the ball and ran untouched to the endzone.

It’s hard to even speculate what Newton was trying to accomplish. Did he momentarily think Foster was a Falcon? Did he want Foster to hand the ball off and complete some sort of ridiculous trick play?
