On Friday, the San Antonio Spurs announced that assistant coach Becky Hammon will serve as head coach of the team during summer league play in Las Vegas. Hammon will become the first female head coach of an NBA Summer League team.

But, of course, the former WNBA All-Star is no stranger to making history. Last year, the 38-year-old became the first full-time paid female NBA assistant coach.
