Terrell Owens thinks he can still help the Eagles and he's probably right

Terrell Owens, now 41, hasn’t played a regular-season NFL game since 2010, but he still believes he can make an impact in 2015 if a team gives him a chance. During an appearance on WIP-FM radio Friday, Owens said he can “absolutely” help the 1-3 Philadelphia Eagles.

“You think that I shouldn’t be playing right now?. I definitely could be playing right now, but based on my character … people can say, ‘Oh he’s 41.’ But I’m not your average 41-year-old and Ike you can attest to that. And when I was on that football field, I felt like I was the best thing out there.”

The crazy thing is that Owens isn’t wrong. He could absolutely help the Eagles, because the bar has been set so incredibly low by Chip Kelly’s offense. An Eagles wide receiver has broken the 100-yard receiving barrier once this season. Philadelphia is 21st in the NFL in big plays (of 20+ yards), 15th in passing touchdowns, and third in dropped passes. Owens might be slow, but he’s still a big target with more than 1,000 career receptions.

Even if a T.O. experiment fails spectacularly and he ends up doing crunches in his driveway again while calling out Chip Kelly live on First Take, it would at least be more entertaining than what Eagles fans are currently putting up with.
