Here's how the National Spelling Bee's official pronouncer says 'GIF'

Jacques Bailly won the 1980 Scripps Spelling Bee and has served as the Bee’s official pronouncer since 2003, making him America’s foremost expert on the correct way to properly say things in English. So For the Win asked him the most important pronunciation-based question in the known universe: Does he say “gif” as “jiff” like peanut butter, or with a hard “G” sound? His answer: Neither.
