Watch golfer completely outwit the 6th hole during tournament

Golf, in theory, is pretty simple. You hit the ball onto the fairway, then onto the green, and then into the hole. But in reality there are all sort of different nuances that come into play, and at the professional level, course strategy is usually the defining factor.

PGA Tour golfer Ben Crane proved himself capable in that department during his second round at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Rather than play the sixth hole as it was designed, Crane hit his ball down an adjacent fairway. He explained why on Twitter afterwards.

Crane went on to make an easy two-putt par on a hole that was playing as one of the toughest on the day.
