Toshiba aims for mainstream 4K with a 12.5-inch touchscreen.

Toshiba today unveiled a new addition to its lineup of flexible 2-in-1 touchscreen laptops: a 12.5-inch 4K model called the Satellite Radius 12.

The new hybrid notebook's standout feature is certainly the 4K display—a resolution few other laptops have dared to shoot for. But at just 12.5 inches, the screen also helps the Radius 12 maintain the series' focus on portability. The chassis is 0.6 inches thick and tips the scales at 2.9 pounds, making it a great option for on-the-go users who also need the highest resolution available.

While the 12.5-inch touchscreen and 4K res are standard across all Radius 12 configurations, users will have the option to upgrade the 12's base specs to include a 6th-gen Intel "Skylake" Core processor and infrared face recognition, according to Toshiba.

No pricing or availability has yet been announced, but we'd expect to see the Satellite Radius 12 in time for the holidays.
