Bartolo Colon whiffs hard, strikes out, and loses his helmet (again)

During a Tuesday night game against the Baltimore Orioles in New York, Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon, who has a storied history of wildly entertaining troubles at the plate took a cut at an off-speed pitch on an 0-2 count and whiffed so hard his helmet came off. Again.

You know, his batting hasn’t gotten any better since his first year in the National League, and, I know it’s selfish, but I kind of hope it doesn’t any time soon. This is just too much fun.

What’s more, so long as he keeps shutting down batters, there’s really not that much harm in these spectacular strikeouts.
