Wilmer Flores hits walk-off home run, delivers one of the feel-good moments of the summer

New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores was in tears on the field Wednesday night, under the impression that the club had traded him before the deadline. Two days later, he was a Mets hero.

A number of reports Wednesday claimed that Flores, who was in the lineup against the Padres, was on the verge of being dealt to the Brewers. Flores was told by a fan Wednesday night that he’d been traded and got emotional on the field, and the fans at Citi Field gave him an ovation.

Flores was even pulled from the game early, but the trade fell through.
