21-year-old Joey Gallo got his major league debut when the Texas Rangers put him in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

With his first at-bat, he singled in two runs to give the Rangers an early lead.

And in Gallo’s second at-bat, he crushed a two-run homer ten rows into the upper deck.

With his third? Bounced a double off of the outfield wall.

Pretty good for his first major league outing, right? None of it should really come as a surprise; Gallo has hit 113 home runs with 277 RBI in 330 career minor league games. He had 42 homers last season, and 40 the year before that.

Gallo hit a Nevada state record 67 home runs batting .466 in high school.

He also played little league with Bryce Harper.

That doesn’t have anything to do with anything, really, but it’s going to be a good fun fact to pull out at parties later this week when you’re talking about how crazy this debut was.
