Week 5 NFL injuries: Marshawn Lynch remains sidelined for Seahawks

USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch will miss his second straight game Sunday as he continues to recover from hamstring and calf injuries. Seattle may also be without Lynch's backup, Fred Jackson, who is questionable after spraining his ankle Monday night. That likely leaves Thomas Rawls and quarterback Russell Wilson to establish any kind of ground attack on the road against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals.

Prior to last week, RB Marshawn Lynch hadn't missed a Seahawks game since 2011.

Other notable injuries heading into Week 5:

USA TODAY Sports' Week 5 NFL picks

— Arizona Cardinals RB Andre Ellington is expected to return from a knee injury. He won't have to face Detroit Lions DT Haloti Ngata, out with a calf injury, but will see LB DeAndre Levy, who is primed to make his season debut after recovering from a balky hip.

— As expected, the Buffalo Bills will have to rely on some combination of RBs Anthony Dixon and newly-signed Daniel "Boom" Herron with LeSean McCoy (hamstring) and rookie Karlos Williams (concussion) both out. WR Sammy Watkins' status (calf) is up in the air.

— The tender hamstring of Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery leaves him questionable to make his second appearance of the season.

— After sitting in Week 4, Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden (finger/ribs) is questionable to face the Baltimore Ravens, who are likely to be without WR Steve Smith (back). TE Crockett Gillmore (calf) and WR Breshad Perriman (knee) remain sidelined for Baltimore, but LT Eugene Monroe (concussion) is probable.

— Peyton Manning's O-line issues will continue with Denver Broncos LT Ty Sambrailo (shoulder) ruled out and G Evan Mathis (hamstring) questionable against the Oakland Raiders.

— TE Julius Thomas, who had hand surgery before the season, is questionable to make his debut Sunday for the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, WR Marqise Lee (hamstring) and RB Denard Robinson (knee) remain sidelined. G Logan Mankins (groin) and All-Pro DT Gerald McCoy (shoulder) are questionable for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

— Despite being concussed last week, Dallas Cowboys LB Sean Lee is probable to return against the New England Patriots, but DE Randy Gregory (ankle) still isn't ready to play.

— Philadelphia Eagles LT Jason Peters (quadricep) is questionable, which may not bode well for the team's sputtering run game.

— After missing three games, Green Bay Packers RT Bryan Bulaga (knee) is questionable to face the vaunted D-line of the St. Louis Rams. Also for the Packers, WR Davante Adams (ankle) and S Morgan Burnett (calf) are questionable as well.

— Good thing the Washington Redskins can run the ball, because they'll be missing quite a few guys who can catch passes (as well as knock them down) with WR DeSean Jackson (hamstring), TE Jordan Reed (concussion, knee, ankle), CB Chris Culliver (knee) and CB DeAngelo Hall (toe) all out.

— Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones is officially questionable with toe and hamstring issues.

— On Sunday night, San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (knee) remains out, along with New York Giants DE Robert Ayers (hamstring) and WR Victor Cruz (calf).
