The Elvis Forever Stamp will be released on August 12.

The United States Postal Service released images Thursday of the new Elvis Presley Forever Stamp.

The stamp will be released August 12 and features a black and white photo of Presley taken in 1955.

A small gold crown appears in the corner as a "nod to Presley's nickname, The King of Rock 'n' Roll," according to a statement from the USPS. The stamps will come in square sheets of 16. The square is meant to resemble a vinyl record album, the USPS said.

The stamps feature a 1955 photograph of Elvis.

The USPS will also release a commemorative CD with 18 of the King's hit songs in addition to the stamps.

Elvis appeared on a stamp in 1993. It was the most popular U.S. commemorative stamp of all time, according to the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum.
