Transparent is getting the DVD and Blu-ray Disc treatment.

Amazon Studios has released a new version of the multiple Golden Globe award-winning series with audio commentary from show creator Jill Soloway, star Jeffrey Tambor and other cast members.

The audio commentary version is available now to Amazon Prime members in the U.S. and the U.K.

Prime members in the US, UK and Germany will find the audio commentary version of the series on the Amazon Instant Video app and on the Web here.

"People are always coming up and asking me questions about how the show came together," said Soloway in comments accompanying the news release. "With this audio commentary, they can hear it for themselves—whether we're reminiscing about the technicalities of production or just showcasing some of the chemistry we shared. I can't wait for our fans to sink their teeth into some of our behind-the-scenes goodness."

Tidbits include the origin of Tambor's line that "My whole life I've been dressing up like a man," which was inspired by a comment from a friend of Soloway's whose parent had undergone a transgender transformation.

Transparent isn't the first Net video series to get the DVD treatment online. Netflix added a director's commentary to Season 1 of House of Cards last year before the second season premiered.
