Jaguar is putting its unusual SUV through extreme temperature testing — and in the process, putting the crossover in a new, rugged light. .

Jaguar says it has done the desert testing for the F-Pace, as it's being called, in Dubai — likely a hot market for the finished product — and the cold weather testing in northern Sweden.

"We've exhaustively tested the F-Pace in the most challenging conditions to ensure that it will exceed the expectations of our customers around the world," says Andrew Whyman, the vehicle program director, in a statement.

That means running the vehicle around in temperatures as low as minus-15 degrees to minus-40 degrees at the Land Rover test facility in Arjeplog, Sweden. At the other extreme, F-Pace has endured 122 degrees in Dubai. Cabin temperatures can soar as high as 158 degrees.
