Warner Bros. announces deal with LeBron James and a 'Space Jam' sequel is definitely happening

Warner Bros. and LeBron James announced a partnership on Wednesday that would cover projects ranging in TV, film and original digital content.

“LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment,” Warner Bros. CEO and Chairman Kevin Tsujihara said. “The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”

While no specific projects were mentioned, eagled-eyed Capital New York reporter Alex Weprin noticed this:

Just one month after the patents for Space Jam were renewed, we get a LeBron James deal.

Lock it up. Get on the phone with Bill Murray and Yosemite Sam. We got a picture to make.
