According to Mason Plumlee, Jimmy Butler’s request for the Portland player to play his incoming fine for a technical foul is denied.
“Absolutely not,” Plumlee said. “He just signed a new contract. He shouldn’t be hurting for money.”
Butler made the demand after a play in the fourth quarter of Chicago’s 93-88 win ended in him tripping Plumlee before exchanging words with the Portland big man.
“He cost me $2,500,” Butler said after the game, according to ESPN. “I’m not happy about that. I’m going to ask him to pay me back — and I’m not playing.”
“I’m going to tell my agent [Happy Walters] to email him or something,” he reportedly added later before taking a shot at Plumlee’s alma mater.
“I know [his address] is MisterDukie@yahoo.com or something.”
So did Butler have a case?
“No,” Plumlee said.
