TV tonight: 'Undateable,' 'Forever'

Et tu Henry? In the Season finale of 'Forever,' Henry (Ioan Gruffudd) faces a struggle over the dagger that killed Julius Caesar.

Undateable

NBC, 9 ET/PT

NBC offers an hourlong live episode of this sitcom, performed separately for the East and West coasts. The gimmick worked, to a degree, for 30 Rock, The Sound of Music and Peter Pan — which would mean more if Undateable were anywhere near as good as 30 Rock, The Sound of Music or Peter Pan.

Forever

ABC, 10 ET/PT

This fantasy-fueled procedural ends its first season with Henry and Adam facing what could be a final confrontation over who gets to wield the dagger that killed Julius Caesar. The Caesar stuff is, perhaps, a credibility bridge too far even for a show built around a man who cannot die. But if you stick with the episode, you'll be rewarded with a guest spot by the always-entertaining John Noble and a very clever final twist. Forever has struggled to strike the right balance between present and past, but it has a great cast and a strong set of characters, and that's reason enough to hope ABC gives it a second chance to find itself.

Person of Interest

CBS, 10 ET/PT

POI ends its season with Finch and Root racing to save the Machine from Samaritan and Reese caught in the fight between Elias and Dominic. My money's on the Machine and Elias, but don't place any bets on my account.
