Troy Tulowitzki makes emphatic Blue Jays arrival with towering HR

That’s quite the way to make an entrance.

On Wednesday, Troy Tulowitzki hammered a home run in his first game (and second at-bat) with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The shortstop had been traded by the Colorado Rockies (with whom he had spent ten seasons and had five All-Star selections) just the day before.

Earlier on Wednesday, Tulowitzki said he was still shocked by the trade, but he also acknowledged its upside.

From the Associated Press:

“What you play this game for is to win, and there’s a great possibility here [with the Blue Jays] that that can happen, and very soon. I know they’re in win-now mode so that excites me.”

And, indeed, Tulo’s first outing with Toronto was a good one; He homered and had three hits to help power the Jays to an 8-2 win against the Philadelphia Phillies.
