Sabres fans can't catch a break, watch team lose out on Connor McDavid in NHL draft lottery

On Saturday, the Edmonton Oilers won the NHL draft lottery (translation: won the right to draft Ontario Hockey League phenom Connor McDavid). And a host of Buffalo Sabres fans were not very happy about it. Why? Because, as lotteries go, it was an upset of sorts: Buffalo had a 20% chance of winning, while the Oilers had an 11.5% chance.

However, for others, the Sabres’ No. 2 pick wasn’t such a travesty; the team will likely draft Boston University center Jack Eichel, who’s also considered a future NHL star.
