Agent denies Tiger Woods had an affair with Jason Dufner's ex-wife

On Wednesday, Radaronline.com featured an article from the National Enquirer claiming that Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn ended their relationship because Tiger had become romantically involved with PGA Tour pro Jason Dufner’s then-wife, Amanda Dufner.

According to an anonymous source in the Enquirer:

“Even though Tiger dated Lindsey for years, he had a ‘thing’ for Amanda. At first, it was just innocent flirting, but earlier this year it became serious.”

It continued:

“Amanda is gorgeous, and she’s known as a big flirt with the other players on the PGA tour,” said another insider. “I guess her flirty ways and good looks caught Tiger’s eye.”

Golf Channel reported in March that the Dufners were getting a divorce, while Vonn and Woods ended their relationship two months later. The National Enquirer, to put this all in context, is the tabloid that has broken a number of high-profile sex scandals in recent years, including Woods’ own in 2009 that led to his divorce.

Despite the report remaining unsubstantiated, on Wednesday Tiger’s agent Mark Steinberg issued the following statement to Fox News relating to the article:

“Absolutely 100 percent false,” agent Mark Steinberg said in an e-mail to FOX411 when we requested comment on the report. “Complete lie and fabrication.”

He later reiterated that sentiment to the Golf Channel:

“The report is categorically false. Absolutely zero truth to that ridiculous rumor.”
